SD Juara - Jakarta Selatan

SD Juara was founded by Illo, in 2011, an energetic young man who was passionate to contribute for Indonesian education. Illo then moved to Europe to continue his education, and moved there permanently since then to pursue professional career.
Starting this year, SD Juara is managed by a new leader, Novita Kusumawati, who is also a consultant for Elementary Education Curriculum for Kitongbisa. Novita is starting to also formalize and write techniques of teaching, through games, interaction with kids, and complementary approach for current curriculum which is used by the teachers. Novita is contributing significantly for the teaching techniques for the elementary schools which is used by most learning centers of Kitongbisa Partners now.
SD Juara aims to help Kids in Southern Jakarta who come from unfortunate background, or those who come from the family who are mostly uneducated, and low economic status. The activites are mostly to visit schools once a week to conduct interactions with kids through games and activities related with subject they learned from the other days, focusing on Math, English and Science. The activities are focused on increasing the student's confidence and self esteem, and train them to be articulate in giving out their opinions.
Kitongbisa is now helping SD Juara to shape their management process, by shaping their vision and mission, plan out the strategic plan, providing platform for them to store the database, strategizing to get funding and connect them with other Kitongbisa partners for resource sharing, curriculum sharing and volunteer opportunities information.

On the 8th of May 2015, Kitongbisa visited it's Partner: SD Juara, to help encouraging the students and help them to incrase their awareness of the importance of reading. We also wanted to increase their self esteem and believe in themselves that every kids deserve equal opportunities to reach their dream
